The paintings and prints offered in this website are the legacy of the Weiss-Christlieb Pictorial partnership which technically ended with the death of Mr. Weiss on 04/12/2021 (See Farewell Irving Weiss).
The commercial design format of the website offers quantity choices. Consequently, the format would not allow this choice to be deleted from the offering of original paintings.
Please disregard the quantity choice option for all original paintings.
The 24-year journey initially in plein-aire painting and later in photography, began with me at 8-years of age, discovering cousin Irving at his easel, painting a portrait of his niece from memory and falling in love with oil painting. That year was 1949. Forty eight years later, I invited Irving to a Sunday, plein-aire paint session in Stoney Point Park and the partnership was sealed.
The book is a visual guide and a summary of the four-year excursion into the properties within and outside of the Santa Monica Mountains that were once the home of nomadic Native Americans. The book was initially a hand bound, limited edition completed in time for the second exhibition of the paintings in 2002.
Ironically, the first exhibit was interrupted by the news of the attack on the Twin Towers on the morning of 09/11/2001.
I have published the paperback edition (August, 2023) as a farewell tribute to my mentor and partner, I.L. Weiss and as a reference guide for collectors.
